For this project, I played with the Chinese character components. Adding graphics related to its meaning to make the character convey stronger visualization.
"犭" in Chinese character represents animals. Chinese characters for different animals include "犭" as a component. In Chinese characters, "猫" stand for cat, "狗" stand for the dog, "狐" stand for fox, and "狮" stand for lion. I convert "犭" to the form of different animals with their characteristics and re-combine them with their other components. I changed "犭" to the feature of a cat, dog, fox, and lion, then made them fit into the original character.
We've learned the knowledge of English typography in class, and this is the first time I have used graphic design skills to play with Chinese characters. Chinese characters are a miracle. Their shape, strokes, and composition always inspire me to design.
Creative graphic could be applied on different products.
